GO WESTY. Vanagon 85-91. If your sliding door doesn't latch well, it can pop open at the most inopportune time—like any time you're driving down the road! This can be dangerous at best... deadly at worst. We've found that this issue can usually be remedied by replacing the two internal latch springs (and giving the latch a good cleaning/greasing at the same time!). Our Sliding Door Latch Spring Replacement Kit might do just the trick and get your latch back in the game.

But that's only part of the story. Over the 30+ years these latches have been in service, the internal mechanisms can often start to wear down, worsening the situation further. If the locking catches on your sliding door latch are worn and the teeth no longer engage – it's time for a full latch rebuild and replacement of those internal parts!

Together these parts deliver everything you need to completely overhaul your sliding door latch. When designing this comprehensive product, we took the time to address key failure points in the original design, and improve overall reliability. We've also included two brand new stainless steel springs and allen-head bolts, which are way easier to install/uninstall than the original prone-to-stripping Phillips head bolts.
